About this deal

I used followed this recipe to make walnut butter (and added 2 TBSP chia seeds, around 3 TBSP coconut oil, and 1 TBSP of agave syrup).

It took longer than expected to get a creamy texture, but I suspect it’s just because I kept stopping to scrape the bowl down. As I mentioned previously (when I made homemade roasted almond butter), there’s going to be a point when you are mixing the ingredients up and you think it’s not going to come together. A unique blend of peanuts, hazelnuts, cashew nuts and almonds, you can enjoy all the benefits of these nutritious nuts in one sitting. It will have a fine powder texture at first but just be patient and let the food processor do its magic.I did a mix with everything I had: almonds, cashews, pecans, walnuts, and hemp hearts, then added vanilla extract and cinnamon for the mix-ins. With nothing but 100% whole roasted nuts inside, the nut oil may separate on occasion but this does not affect the quality of the product. I love a blend of sunflower seeds and mixed nuts, some of my favourites being cashews, almonds and walnuts. I tried making it while living in Kenya (good luck finding nut butters there) but did not have much success (the equipment is also not that great). I had one question: I wanted to make almond butter, and somehow I was distracted and started to blend the nuts without roasting them. I read that this soaking method helps to deactivate some enzyme inhibitors and make the nuts more digestible. My favorite combo is walnuts, pistachios, hazelnuts and brazil nuts with flax, chia seeds, little salt and vanilla.Overheated it for the first time in 30 years, and a Vita Mix does not make it easy to get the food down on/near the blade. We’d recommend leaning more toward nuts that are creamy and fairly neutral in flavor such as almonds, cashews, walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts, and macadamia nuts.

Every pantry has its stash of miscellaneous nuts, and this recipe is the answer to anyone needing a pantry purge--or who just wants to get creative with nut butter. Anyone else have a pantry problem with little containers of different almonds and cashews or varying ages? I have roasted my own fresh raw pecans (nothing added during roasting) and then blended into pecan butter.

Rich and wholesome in flavour, there is no added sugar or salt and we don’t use palm fat or emulsifiers. To my surprise, 48 hours later the refrigerated never thickened at all and the frozen hardly thickened at all and NEVER FROZE! We go to great efforts to ensure that the information on this page is accurate at the time that the page was last edited. Enjoy the creamy texture as a spread on bread or stir in dough, soups, sauces, dressings, smoothies and more to add a wonderful aroma and rich texture.

Due to this, You should always read the label before consuming or using the product and never rely solely on the information presented here. The butter was fine on its own but my daughter added water to it and made the most fabulous cream which we had with a mixed fruit crumble. It turned into something completely different from this recipe, sometimes things just don’t work out. The spices and maple syrup will react with the nut butter making it slightly less creamy which is why you don’t want to stir it around too much. Do you need to fill the food processor up fairly full with nuts for the food processor to do a good job grinding the nuts into nut butter? Arrange the nuts on the prepared baking sheet and roast until fragrant and barely golden, 12 to 15 minutes.
