About this deal

The custom deck of 105 cards is beautifully illustrated with seven uniquely colored praying mantises doing or eating something silly.

Any time someone successfully steals from the other player, they get to take another turn immediately. After writing for Kotaku UK, Waypoint and Official Xbox Magazine, Alex became a member of the Dicebreaker editorial family. The studio has already provided nearly 1000 copies since January, with Mantis being added to the program. With this foldable and lockable Feldherr deck holder, you can transport all the cards from the core game in a space-saving, secure, and guaranteed crease-free manner.Collect matching cards by stealing them from your opponents, but try not to let them steal yours back! Plus, the luck of the draw is thrilling; the cheers and sighs when the cards come up good or bad can make the game doubly entertaining with the right crowd.

Okay, before I get myself into a technicolour tizz, I’m going to tell you about the new card game from the team behind Exploding Kittens (then I am going back to the colours…. Best for ages seven and up, Mantis is a colourfully cutthroat card game of rainbows and revenge with only two rules: steal or score. The deck is made up of cards that let you avoid exploding by peeking at cards before you draw, forcing your opponent to draw multiple cards, or shuffling the deck. If you like quick push your luck games with masses of player interaction that are an absolute feat for the eye, this is a game for you! But parents, be warned, your kids will probably beat you, and they’ll want to keep beating you over and over again.

Granted, the game’s got some pretty solid production value to boot, but I would kind of expect that, given the whole Exploding Kittens thing. On your turn, you take the top card off the deck and decide if you are going to try to use it to (a) score cards matching one of the colours also present in your area or (b) steal cards matching one of those 3 colours from an opponent. Well ok, bigger picture, existentially maybe, but not when it comes to being a fan of Exploding Kittens! I’m going to assume it’s one of those Oatmeal things that I don’t really get since I don’t actively consume the comic content. Foi transformado num jogo autónomo que pode ser combinado com o baralho padrão, aumentando assim o jogo para até 10 jogadores.

There are legions of folks who share your passion for gaming, behind-the-scenes content, and the occasional gift of free stuff–and they’re all hanging out on our Discord server! p>SCOUT is a ladder-climbing game in which cards have two potential values, players may not rearrange their hand of cards, and players may pass their turn to take a card from the current high set of cards into their hand. I think Mantis shows that Exploding Kittens is trying to think about how to expand its audience, and that’s both good and interesting for gaming. The box (inside and out), the cards, even the mini comic inside by the Oatmeal explaining just the amazing colour receptiveness of the Mantis Shrimp, is an explosion of colour. Each suit also has its own cutely illustrated Mantis Shrimp type – check out Mr Romantic on the pink ones!
