About this deal

The biggest factor that will affect the performance and efficiency of the BRS-3000T is windy conditions, because there is very little wind protection around the burner. I bought the BRS-3000T over a year ago mainly for adventure picnicking, but since then it’s been along on quite a few backpacking and kayak camping trips.

In addition to safety issues, it's not clear to me what's the average outdoor consumption of this stove (compared to normal stoves such as Pocket Rocket 2 or Soto Amicus etc. By accepting all cookies, you agree to our use of cookies to deliver and maintain our services and site, improve the quality of Reddit, personalize Reddit content and advertising, and measure the effectiveness of advertising.Since 2008 I normally use a Caldera Cone and a 500ml Evernew Ti pot but the math worked out where the BRS 3000T and Jetboil Sol Ti cup was lighter for two people. The stove itself is advertised as being made of titanium, but other metals are included in the construction, mostly brass and steel. One thing you will need to pay attention to with this stove design is that if the burner control valve is not closed when you screw on the gas canister, gas will escape.

Along with their USA-made BottleLock Hip Pack and adjustable Loonie Bin Cage, there was also a tiny gray box that I must have missed during my initial unboxing. The criticisms of this little stove above stoves like the Pocket Rocket and Soto Windmaster or Amicus are that it is less efficient if you crank it open wide. Despite not being a stove particularly suited to colder, wintry conditions, Three Points of the Compass used the BRS 3000-T stove to simply boil water on a winter hike of the South Downs Way in 2018. Comparable Boil Time in Warm Weather - I have a routine for camp chores and it’s how I measured the boil time of this stove. Simply setting up the stove behind a tree, rock, picnic table, or other structure can also help a ton.I get to do one big trip a year (I generally go to the Sierras or Rockies for a week) and there will be at least one other stove on the trip – probably a MSR Reactor, which is an amazingly stove but I just couldn’t bring myself to carry a stove that heavy. Also I find if you do not keep the pump on it it lasts a lot longer also I use the same lube as you get in the primus stove repair kit or MSR maintenance kit keeps it all right.

Bought one of these several years ago (don't remember exactly when) and whenever I fly abroad it comes with me. Their titanium Siphon has its faults, but these are mostly balanced out by simplicity, small size, light weight, robustness and performance. I think that it's fair to say that the BRS-3000T is the worlds first true super ultralight (SUL) canister stove.

I find the foldout arms to provide plenty of stability for my small 550-ml pot and the flame is very adjustable. Instead of these two stalwarts, one of a couple of smaller stoves may occasionally sneak its way into a kit list for outdoor trips. All you have to do to use this stove is swing the stabilizer arms into position and attach the stove to a fuel canister.
