About this deal

Founder, Joe McGirr, has utilised his background in spirits and whisky knowledge to build his dream of the first legal distillery in Fermanagh in over 130 years. The distilleries seed-to-sip ethos means that they can trace the wheat used in each individual bottle back to the farmer who grew it and even the field in which it was grown. They don’t filter their spirit at all, they believe this allows you to enjoy the unique flavour of this Irish grain vodka in the way we intended it – pure and unedited.

Joe’s dream to build a distillery in the place in which he grew up was inspired by his family’s rich farming history. The Boatyard Distillery is an award-winning farm-to-bottle distillery located on the banks of Lough Erne in north-west Ireland. Boatyard’s seed-to-sip ethos means that you can trace the wheat used in each individual bottle back to the farmer who grew it and even the field in which it was grown. I leave it to chill for around an hour before serving it into a frosted glass and garnishing by expressing lime oils across to the top to finish. If I was blindfolded I would would be fooled that it was whiskey, at least with slimline tonic as the mixer.A small batch Irish wheat vodka, distilled in County Fermanagh from carefully sourced Irish wheat, giving a creamy, smooth character of spirit with notes of black pepper, orange zest, beeswax and vanilla sweetness on the finish. The last time I visited my ancestral mother country, I ate a plate of lamb sweetbreads so ruggedly delicious I sprouted a shepherd's beard. As a discerning drinker, it’s impossible to miss the ingrained qualities of a liquid that has been made with a conscious consideration of some of the finest raw materials available. The Boatyard team are heavily invested in sourcing the finest ingredients out there and they bottle the vodka unfiltered for a smooth and crisp mouthfeel.

Their seed-to-sip ethos means that they can trace the wheat used in each individual bottle back to the farmer who grew it and even the field in which it was grown. Essentially, you treat it like any drink made in a Martini or a Coupette glass, but trimmer and because of its diminutive size, more concentratedly delicious. It’s not for Smirnoff drinkers, I’ll grant you, it’s for those who like their vodka with a distinct taste and mouthfeel, to really experience the grain. The Irish wheat for our vodka is carefully selected from what we consider to be the best growers in Ireland. Crafted with meticulous care, this vodka is meticulously distilled using the finest ingredients, resulting in a clean and refined flavor profile.

With a focus on innovation and quality, Boatyard uses 100% organic ingredients, using only organic wheat grown in Ireland to create its field-to-bottle vodka which is made entirely on-site at its distillery. Joe's dream to build a distillery in the place in which he grew up was inspired by his family's rich farming history - from grandad Brian who was a ploughing contractor to father Michael who was a dairy and beef farmer. A pre-diluted batched gimlet spending a few hours in the freezer will take on velvety consistency that can’t be achieved otherwise.Without them, this site would not function correctly or be able to collect information to make your experience better. What I’m trying to say is, anything humble, delicious and chubby with Irish butter will marry perfectly with Boatyard Vodka. Anybody with even a passing interest in quality, craft spirits should own a bottle of Boatyard vodka. The Irish wheat for their vodka is carefully selected from what they consider to be the best growers in Ireland.
