Conditions were excellent as 48 riders set off from Woodcote Village Hall for 5.5 laps of an attritional 19.2km circuit, following the main A4074 road to the Carmel College turn, then heading on the B4009 through North Stoke / South Stoke and Goring Village followed by a sharp left by Goring Station and tackling the 3km climb of Flint Hill to Crays Pond and onto Woodcote to complete one lap.

Despite several hard efforts from various riders to split the field on the opening laps, there was little decisive activity until the penultimate lap, when a group of seven riders [Adam Cotterell (Tri Sport News.com), Edgar Medellin (Finchley RT), Jason Roberts (Glasgow Nightingale), Andrew Hastings (Bishops Stortford CC), Neil Wass (Anders Electronics), Mark Williams (Python RT) and David Kennet (Norwood Paragon)] managed to ease clear on the climb and maintain a small advantage to the finish. On the final time up Flint Hill, three riders were able to ride clear, with Adam Cotterell just edging out Edgar Medellin on the line with Jason Roberts a couple of bike lengths behind in third.

The peleton, now down to 23 riders, could not quite get organised enough to close the gap in the final lap and were led in by Samuel Parker (Oxford City RC), 39 seconds down.
