NPT - National Pipe Thread - is the US standard. Most of the rest of the world uses BSP - British Standard Pipe. Our stainless steel hose tail adaptors can be used to connect a hose to a threaded pipe, providing a high-quality, reliable join. Sizes range from 1/4” to 4”.

Although it is not recommended, these products can be used with other fluids but must not be corrosive or flammable. The terminology for the use of G and R originated from Germany ( G for gas, as it was originally designed for use on gas pipes; R for rohr, meaning pipe.)

G is the international standard shorthand for BSPP - BSP Parallel threads. R is the standard for BSPT - BSP Tapered. Parallel (G) threads are used where the seal is made on a mating face, like inside a cast iron radiator with the aid of a gasket.
