It has been a busy weekend in the club so though I’d summarise some of the great cycling across the club *
Thursday 19th June – Ben Owen Inter club memorial TT
A great evening in Stadhampton saw the cub host the Annual Ben Owen Competition. The Mens and Ladies teams both won the team competitions.
Thanks to our friends in the respective clubs for coming along to support our charity event. Individual rider results are available here
Friday 20th June – BMCC Silverstone 9-UP TT
The unpracticed Silverstone 9-up TT team finished in a time of 24minutes 53 seconds to finish 34th out of 80 teams
The event comprised of 3 laps of the F1 circuit which equates to 10.8 miles.
Saturday 20th June – Avebury Summer Solstice ride
5 hardy souls met at 1 a.m. and rode through the night to watch the Sunrise at Avebury Stone circle
Sunday 21st June – Club record broken
Phil Brown traveled to South Wales to ride the R25/3L course, and in doing so secured a time of 51 minutes 28 seconds.
Congratulation to Phil from all at the club for breaking the Veterans 25 mile record
In addition to the above we also had multiple riders in the Newbury Open 10 and DPCC Open 25 events on Saturday and Sunday, Kevin Wilkinson took part in the 24hour Mountain Mayhem MTB endurance ride, and Nick Druce went all retro to ride in L’Eroica Britannia up in Derbyshire. Oh and last but not least a Clubrun to Benson via Henley.
Cycling Weekends surely cant get any better than that?
