About this deal

Both releases look almost identical, but the Limited Edition has a green band running across the top of the front cover with the words Limited edition - includes bonus special features DVD. Whether inside the cabin or outside in the dark woods as Cheryl runs from some ravaging trees, there is a great deal of definition in the foliage or random objects littering the cottage.

Spiegel, who doesn’t get enough time to speak whilst some of the others have positively too much, tells us of the jack-of-all-trades position that he held behind the scenes during the production. And things only seem to get better with this Dolby TrueHD soundtrack which, as with the video, is also the best the film has ever sounded. You have to respect them for being willing to step into the recording booth once again to talk about the one that started it all. When their roadie aunt Beth (Lilly Sullivan) comes looking for advice, things suddenly go into overdrive. They are all involved with the horror industry, and have all been mightily influenced by what Sam Raimi did. A solidly calibrated HDR/DV 4K set is going to make this film really shine, as it showcases incredible details levels, dark blood primaries, and a a moody atmospheric tone that just swelters in the low light. The 4K UHD and the Blu-ray disc sadly have ZERO extras on board, but the audio and video experience is more than worth the expenditure along with the fun story.

The ghostly voices that Ash hears (possibly in his own mind) down in the cellar when getting more shells for the gun now carry a tremendous little echo to them, really adding another supernatural aura to an already off-kilter scene. aperture favored by Raimi, but this is only due to the obvious zoom-in used for accomplishing this new frame. The Ladies of The Evil Dead" are Theresa Tilly (Shelly), Ellen Sandweiss (Cheryl) and Betsy Baker (Linda). Overall, this is decent(ish) collection for fans, but the nagging thing is still the lack of input from Sam Raimi.

The quality difference in the two presentations is miniscule and negligible, coming down ultimately to the preference of the viewer. Anchor Bay Home Entertainment has detailed its upcoming Blu-ray release of Ash vs Evil Dead: The Complete First Season.

This is a frothy and amusing little session that tells you zip about the film, but offers a bit of that convention fun that is a lot more prevalent in the features on the US release. For this Blu-ray edition, Anchor Bay debuts the favorite 80s horror flick with a wealth of supplements on a separate DVD disc. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. The easter egg; 'Book Of The Dead The Other Pages' is a single unedited shot showing of Ash thumbing through each page the Book Of The Dead.
