About this deal

Hoping for full RSDK remasters that are widescreen versions with more screen space than the Master System, but with the Game Gear’s strengths. Okay then, this will FINALLY be a worthwhile upgrade. This may actually be the greatest classic Sonic collection ever made if this happens. Wish they included Sonic the Fighters and Sonic R though from Gems Collection.

Yosti Thanks! That must have been super frustrating for you buying it digitally just before the physical was announced. That kind of thing drives me mad. I bought the limited edition version of Mania with the statue etc that came with a digital code, so that didn't effect me, but to be fair a new Sonic game is always going to be a day one for me anyway. But I've had similar experiences with other games that I put off buying incase there was physical, and then when I eventually give in and buy digital, I always think "I bet you they announce a physical copy tomorrow"! Sonic Fans are Not Happy About a Major Change in Sonic Origins". GAMING. Archived from the original on 2022-06-22 . Retrieved 2022-06-23.

Parent company Sega Sammy has now spoken about the game's reception and sales success in a Q&A with investors - revealing the latest entry has "greatly exceeded" the original sales estimation... Let's be real, this is a bunch of old games that have been re-released various times over, it's just not a good look. For me, the NES is almost more like something I revere as the ("proper" home console) origin of some of my favourite series - Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Metroid, Kirby, Castlevania, Contra, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy... but all of those series were massively improved over time on later hardware, meaning I don't feel like revisting the original titles as often. Mario 3 and Kirby being the exceptions. But there is undeniably something really iconic and cool about the NES, the aesthetic and design of the console, controllers, zapper gun. Its shorthand for "gaming"... but probably because of the huge American infleunce in Western culture, especially English speaking media. Oh wow, haven't played ANY of the Game Gear Sonic games! (Have played some Master System ones) No idea what any of them are like but hopefully there's some gems among them...

It seems Sega really is open to anything when it comes to Sonic - with the company today announcing The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog. While it might be a funny joke, it's actually a real game as well. Update [Sun 18th Dec, 2022 04:30 GMT]: Sonic Frontiers game director Morio Kishimoto has announced on social media this same demo... After the success of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (the movies, not the games), it was always inevitable that Paramount Pictures would want to capitalise on the mascot's immense popularity.Sega has released a new video showcasing snippets of new character themes from Sonic Frontiers' upcoming 'Final Horizon' update. That was a officially the first time I’ve ever SEEN the Sonic 2 hidden place zone. I’ve only ever heard of it and knew it was “supposed to” have been in Sonic 2. The falling debris was patched. When and on what platform did you play? Well, never mind. I don't care. You didn't even reply to my well-intentioned explanation. Please look for someone else to have arguments with next time.

Sonic Team's head Takashi Iizuka has revealed how the studio became involved when plans "fell through" with the Sonic Mania developers,... While we already know Dr. Eggman and Fang will be making a return, it seems the official PR has revealed even more juicy... Again, I don't say that to shame the NES, I love the system (in fact we are looking into making a Hazel platform game for it! And another for Gameboy!) just to point out the stark difference between the experience of being a gamer in the UK at the time, verses America or Japan (where the awesome PC Engine pushed the MkIII/SMS into a distant 3rd place). belmont I know, that's why I want the Master System versions added to that Game Gear collection. It's not just that they are zoomed in but the resolution is lower on Game Gear, not to mention the audio downgrade (at least on real hardware). One of the games I'm making for switch is a Metroidvania, starring Hazel Witch, the little girl with purple hair in my avatar! So I hope you will at least like that, even if its not your favourite genre... we've worked very hard to make sure people don't get lost - theres great interactive maps and she has a cute little bat that follows her around, and you can always talk to him for clues or get him to fly to where secrets are or show where you should be headingThis patch bumps the game up to Version 1.0.5 on Nintendo's hybrid system. Sega doesn't go into details about what exactly this update does, but according to a rough translation, players should... The Game Gear is basically a portable Master System, but with a much smaller screen, many games were released for both systems, and the main downside is how the Game Gear ports of Master System games constantly have a screen crunch that makes the game much worse. As spotted by VGC, the announcment was made via a notice to investors from Sega Sammy Holdings Inc., detailing a number of changes within its management system and...

Update [Fri 28th Jul, 2023 20:45 BST]: Game Informer has shared a brand new interview with Sonic Team's Creative Officer Takashi Iizuka showcasing all of the Emerald Powers. Original article [Thu 23rd Mar, 2023 10:45 GMT]: An updated version of Sonic Origins — titled Sonic Origins Plus — is reportedly coming to Switch in June 2023. This is according to a report from ComicBook.com which has since been deleted, but not before other outlets such as VGC and GoNintendo spotted it. Things like the blurry appearance, some of the collision bugs, weird physics in Sonic 1 special stages. In any case, this is an excellent way of accessing all Sonic Game Gear games on modern hardware. I just want Sega to include the Master System versions as well, because most people admit that they are clearly better. Now, in a small update, the game's director Morio Kishimoto has responded to fan questions about the third expansion - revealing the well-known Sonic writer Ian Flynn will indeed...

Mario and Sonic both have new side-scrolling games arriving in the same week later this month and it has been generating some discussion online. Late to commenting because life getting in the way of being online, but HAD to jump in to say CLASSIC AMY IN THE ORIGINAL GAMES WOOOOOoooooo! Sonic Superstars will be launching at some point in the near future on the Nintendo Switch and multiple other platforms. To build hype for this brand-new multiplayer platformer, there will apparently be a "world premiere" for the blue blur's new game at Opening Night Live next week. Sonic the Hedgehog is no stranger to change. The franchise has crossed paths with multiple genres across the decades, from its humble beginnings as a 2D platformer to the latest "open-zone" 3D title Sonic Frontiers, and everything in between.
