Straker, Damien (29 August 2019). "BABYTEETH – Trailer, Synopsis, and Poster". ImpulseGamer.com . Retrieved 15 October 2019. The writing style was gripping. I adored that the father was Swedish, and he usually used a Swedish word. It was special. I like that he calls Hanna his lilla gumman. Baby Teeth was a blast for me to read. Perfect for fans of Horror movies such as The Omen, Orphan and Case 39. Baby Teeth was quite the creepy tale. It is one I think people will either love it or hate it. I found myself teether precariously between them. One thing is for certain everyone will have an opinion. We find ourselves inside the home of Alex and Suzette Jensen. They are a family of means, both artistic and parents of an only child, seven-year-old daughter Hanna.

I read this book in February and it has stayed with me over the last six months and as much as I read that absolutely says something!

Baby Teeth

Hanna is brilliant and has a vivid imagination however she has never uttered a word. Rigorous medical testing from scans to hearing have detected no abnormalities. For her Daddy, she is a precious, adorable little angel in need of protection. For Mommy she is cunning, manipulative and dangerous. They attempted traditional school, but Hanna’s outbursts, and other incidents have her being turned away. Not going to lie Hanna was devious but I couldn’t help but feel sorry for her. She suffers abandonment fears and sees the world differently.

After such a strong start, the majority of this story just didn’t feel authentic enough to me. I felt "Baby Teeth" tried so hard to be a light version of “The Omen” and it horribly failed. I would not consider this a true horror novel at all. It simply wasn’t scary enough but the potential was undoubtedly there at the beginning. I won’t spoil anything for you but I was expecting this story to go in an entirely different direction but all I got was way too much dialogue, repetitiveness, and difficult-to-believe fluff from the 20% mark on. Wonderland (2020): This novel is about a family of four that moves from New York to a rural farmhouse. The family starts dealing with malevolent forces in the woods outside of their home, but they're not sure if they're coming from the earth, trees, or somewhere deep in their minds.

Between this and Alex, Hannah’s father, I just started to get even more frustrated. He was completely useless in this story due to denial and constantly saying “älskling” and “lilla gumman” 39,827 times in this novel was overkill. It completely took me out of the reading experience since his character irritated me and not in a cool or evil way. There is something missing with this book, there is nothing there to hold your interest. I feel like Hanna should have been written with more of a horror bent, at least it would have spiced up the plot a bit. I spent the first half of the book wishing I could chalk it up as mindless entertainment, but it's missing the entertainment part. I found myself skimming out of boredom. No plot twist. No thriller. I didn’t feel tension or suspense. Dull as dishwater. Starred Review. Stage fuses horror with domestic suspense to paint an unflinching portrait of childhood psychopathy and maternal regret." - Kirkus A stay-at-home mom desperately tries to connect with her mute 7-year-old daughter, whose disturbing behavior continues to escalate in this gripping debut novel from an indie screenwriter.” — InStyle

Babyteeth is a 2019 Australian drama/comedy film directed by Shannon Murphy. It stars Eliza Scanlen as sixteen-year-old Milla, Toby Wallace as Moses, and Essie Davis and Ben Mendelsohn as Milla's parents. From brushing their first tooth to their first trip to the dentist, here's how to take care of your children's teeth. For Suzette’s safety and Hanna’s best interests, Beatrix suggested that the Jensens send her to a children’s psychiatric facility called Marshes. Reluctantly, they agreed. They went on Tuesday as a family, and Suzette helped Hanna make a stuffed toy of the UnderSlumberBumbleBeast, a character from her favorite book. The next day, without telling Hanna where they were going, they drove to the facility in rural Pennsylvania. They left Hanna without goodbyes, and when she realized what was happening, she ran after them, crying and clutching her toy. Suzette felt that she was returning to normal, and felt a guilty joy that her daughter was gone. Weeks went by until they got a call from Marshes. Hanna was on the phone, speaking in her own voice for the first time. She asked to come home, and while Alex wanted to let her, Suzette gave a firm no. Furious, Hanna resolved to become the best girl ever so that she could come home and get revenge. I thought everything would get better. Kindergarten. But she didn’t talk. That’s how it all started. We tried doctors, there’s nothing physically wrong. But every place I’ve tried to enroll her, and every babysitter, it’s like she wants to torture— just me”. Maybe it had been a mistake, trying to set Mommy on fire. If only she’d known how long it took for things - or people - to fully ignite. Of course any story of this nature is going to be an uncomfortable read and I was very aware of that hurdle from the onset. That said, no doubt I would have found this more unsettling than I did, had I bought into any of it. I did not.

I allowed other peoples opinions to sway my own when it came to this book, and that was not fair to the book or to the author! Children aged 7 and over should be able to brush their own teeth, but it's still a good idea to watch them to make sure they brush properly and for about 2 minutes. How to help children brush their teeth properly Baby Teeth is one of the most original books in the horror genre. It has one of the most memorable protagonists who will stay with you for a long while.”— ForbesI don't think I am giving anything away by saying that. You can deem that much from reading the synopsis, but this book is so much more than that. it’s a strong, if somewhat predictable, offering in the “creepy kids” genre. hanna is perfectly menacing, and her voice and reasoning skills are usually appropriate to her age, Every win for Hanna was a you-lose for Mommy, but there are a few moments that seem a little too much for a seven-year-old:
