About this deal

They are the tallest so far, with a height of 11 mm and a width of 13 mm, and they are the ones that go deepest in the ear canal as they have quite a pointy tip with a smaller hole than that on the CP145. Due to their shape they offer an almost perfect seal, so if the earphones you’re wearing provide any isolation at all you probably won’t hear a thing of what’s around you without needing active noise cancellation. The SpinFit CP100 works across a range of in-ear monitors including but not limited to: the 64 Audio Tia Fourte, 64 Audio Tia U18 as well as InEar’s ProMission X and Campfire Audio’s Andromeda 2020.

For me this results in a very noticeable wobble when you move about, step etc as the earbud is no longer resting against your ear. Double flange eartips are useful for listeners who have larger ear canals and have a hard time getting a good seal. It’s just a matter of habit, because they’re actually quite comfortable and some people may even find them more comfortable than “traditional” eartips exactly because of their shallower fit. Moreover, eartips are just about the cheapest (and often most reproducible) way of tuning an earphone. The original CP-100 model had a fairly stiff, color-coded stem (with color changing upon size) and the outer material was also fairly stiff.I’m not sure if the S size is too small for you, perhaps if you get the CP360 M, it might be less fatiguing. The CP100+ will be using medical-grade silicone for even better comfort and reduces allergic reactions. The CP240 has a wide bore and fits comfortably on larger nozzles, but it also comes with a selection of adapters that allow it to fit snugly on smaller nozzles as well. It is not as soft as the silicone tips from the more premium brands like Sennheiser, and due to the extended tube, the earbuds do not sit inside the ear concha.

On the CP240, the SpinFit pivot comes in between the first and second flange, to provide flexibility at the top for the second flange. The only two in-production models that I don’t have with me are the CP-155 (I don’t have a large-nozzle IEM at the moment) and the Airpod-specific CP-1025 (I don’t have an Airpod). Once you tag my account, I should get a notification, and I will pick some lucky readers who will receive a set. They’ll create an easy but snug fit on models from Noble or Campfire Audio, as well as hybrid in-ear headphone designs like the Audeze iSINE10 and LCD-i series.

The CP-100 was pretty much a utilitarian eartip, as in it would suit most models without affecting the FR too much or causing discomfort. If anything, the better seal allows bass to get further down, but it’s a minimal difference which is highly dependent on the earphones you are listening to. Quality of the bass from SpinFit tips is quite impressive with well-defined notes and good texturing across the upper bass and lower mid transition.

Interestingly, the SpinFit single-flange tip was more comfortable than MandarinE’s Symbio W hybrid tip (an ear tip with a thin layer of silicone coating an inner thermoplastic memory-foam core). They are conical (a wide ogive, to be exact) and offer a diameter of 4 mm which fits most earphones (including the Campfire Audio Vega 2020 and Dorado 2020, the Thieaudio Legacy 4, the Tin HiFi T2), but which is also a bit tight for earphones with larger nozzles. It’s such a great and simple idea in hindsight that one has to wonder why nobody else thought about it before.

While the CP100 fits on the Empire Ears line of IEMs, it generally is a little tough to get on, while the CP155 and CP500 don’t provide a snug fit.In other words, it won’t happen that the eartips remain stuck in your ears when you take out the earphones. SpinFit’s tips are an excellent addition to an audiophile’s inventory with real sonic improvements, exceptional ergonomics and a transparent delineation of sound. The older CP-145 has a more supple, grippier texture on the outside whereas the new, medical-grade silicone version has a more coarse texture and has slightly worse seal. While conventional ear tips do not always direct the sound to the eardrum, SpinFit aim to maximize this with their patented 3D axis. However, quite remarkably, the SpinFit tips do not exacerbate sibilance or compressed sounds at the top-end – this is a big strength especially as it able to portray micro-details without enhancing perceived clarity.
