It's no secret that Cinderella comes from a terrible living situation in Cinderella. Her stepmother and stepsisters are cruel and nasty, and her father died when she was a young girl. However, many viewers criticize Cinderella's behavior and her devotion to always being kind. Cinderella is, in short, nice to everyone, including her ungrateful family. She takes every insult with a smile and always treats her stepmother with respect. This is an uncomfortable sight, especially considering today's standards and what children should be learning from movie characters. A fun story about a princess who gets annoyed with being expected to sit around and look pretty, who decides instead to team up with a dragon and go on adventures! Not the first picture book I've seen with this theme, but I always enjoy these twists on classic tales. The art in this was particularly good compared to some others I've seen. The rhyming. Sometimes, rhyming in children’s books drives me nuts, especially when the rhyming is forced and unnecessary. In this one, the rhyming was fun and added nicely to the story. Girl power is celebrated in this picture book that turns the princess role firmly on its head’ Waking Brain Cells blog

Knowing she couldn't defeat the dragon alone, the Worst Princess gathered a team of misfits who were also considered the worst at what they did. There was a clumsy knight, a shy wizard, and a talking squirrel. Together, they strategized and came up with a plan to outwit the dragon. It's also empowering to see the lead female character want to go against the stereotypes.

This book is a breath of fresh air! A much-needed reminder that we must carve out our own identities and not be forced into traditional roles.’ Sue Hendra, co-creator of the bestselling Supertato Once you have read something you should talk about it! Find someone to talk to about what happened in the story and maybe answer these questions: Moana doesn't understand the island and her father's rule about not sailing out onto the ocean and she isn't one to just accept the status quo.

Despite all this oppressive oversight, Aurora still manages to do the exact thing she's been warned against her entire life by reaching for that sewing spindle, and boom, into the deep sleep she falls. (Cue the puns about this story being a snoozefest.) Summary: This is not your typical fairy tale princess story. Every princess story starts off with girl in waiting for her prince who soon comes, takes her away, and they live happily ever after. This book takes this original idea and twist it and turns it into a fun story of not your typical girl. It is a poem style writing that rhymes and makes you want to laugh out loud. The pictures takes the words that are written down and brings them to life in a new artistic way. Full of colors and details it is a book that is a eye catcher.Whether or not this is something I’d read to a three-year old would depend on how infatuated she was with some of those other princesses. Since, quite frankly, I’d rather see a young girl grow up believing it’s okay to grow up to be what you want, even if it’s not what you think other people think you should be. Full House Theatre’s new show is about to explode onto the New Wolsey stage, bringing the bestselling picture book to life. The whole family will enjoy laugh-out-loud comedy, cool puppets, sing-along pop anthems and a dazzling larger-than-life dragon. Told in verse, and wonderfully illustrated by Sara Ogilvie, this picture book is so funny it could be safely recommended for all ages’ The Independent on Sunday
