About this deal

Fans of Drawn Together will find a few great things in the extras to keep them occupied. There's game that can be played in both censored and uncensored mode (both of which are a lot of fun), deleted scenes and a karaoke sing along. Of particular interest are four previously unseen segments, deleted scenes and audio commentary by the series' cast & creators. Hot Tub • Clara's Dirty Little Secret • Gay Bash • Requiem for a Reality Show • The Other Cousin • Dirty Pranking No. 2 • The One Wherein There Is a Big Twist Toot: "There's lots of ways to make a baby. There's kissing, there's sex, and there's finding one in the dumpster after the prom." Clara: "Really? That's how people get tumors? I thought Jesus gave people tumors for marrying outside their race." Source: Deleted line from "Hot Tub". In the aired version, the phrase "even if you're just looking for a place to pee" is removed.

Clara: "Then I'd have his gay blood on my hands, and, well, you know, that's not such a good thing." Octopussoir • Bleh • Jun-Jee • The King • The Jew Producer • Child Services • Unusually Flexible Girl • Steve from Long Island • Judge Fudge Charlotte’s Web Of Lies– Spanky Hamm enters into a messy relationship with a spider, Captain Hero becomes chummy with his arch-nemesis, and Ling Ling learns the origin of his violent tendencies. Clara and Foxxy are shown from underneath. Then follows a shot which looks like the kiss sequence from the first Spiderman movie, followed by a side view. The series is structured just like the reality shows it sets out to satirize, complete with private interviews in a confession room and the occasional jerky "camera work" to simulate a real cameraman. I have to come clean here - I hate reality television. A lot. So, bearing that in mind, when I first heard of the concept for this series I wondered just how anyone could possibly satirize a genre that pretty much makes itself look bad on a weekly basis. While Drawn Together doesn't always work, the series still has enough entertaining moments to make it worth your time if you're looking for decent mood elevator. This is a small collection of high-res Drawn Together images that I mixed with a DJ Richie Hawtin set. A lot of these Drawn Together images come from deviantART that feature the likes of Foxxy Love, Toot, Xandir, Ling Ling, and Captain Hero... Foxxy: "Foxxy Love played at the Special Olympics, and those kids have hearts as big as their oversized foreheads." The commentaries are on 4 out of the 7 episodes. Some are entertaining while others are pretty useless. Audio commentaries are always subjective - what one person will find informative and entertaining will be mind shatteringly dull to someone else. None of these were bad enough that I wanted start pounding my head against the coffee table but a couple were close. Some of the edited scenes helped to wash the taste of those out of my brain but there's a valuable lesson to be learned here: just because you can do audio commentaries doesn't always mean you should have audio commentaries. Captain Hero: "I guess it goes without saying, I wasn't about to sling some yogurt on an unconscious woman's feet." If you can, please watch this video full screen and 720p HD quality. It looks really awesome! It's cool to see artwork of Drawn Together, especially from fans.

The roommates begin getting to know each other, Clara's bigotry reveals itself, and things get steamy in the hot tub. Wollkneul: "I'm free, haha, I'm free, I'm free, I'm free, I'm free...ah...wait, my immune system. I'm not strong enough to live outside the bubble."Source: " Requiem for a Reality Show". Despite the fact that the answer is given as "Censored", the line appeared on television completely intact. The house lies in ruins. Wooldoor still hovers inside the bubble which suddenly pops. He falls to the ground. I guess what I’m trying to say is that this show works very hard to offend everyone that it can. (It is also definitely for ADULTS ONLY.) There is a line of reasoning that says that such an approach is fair and even-handed, and therefore no one should really take any of it seriously enough to be offended. For myself, it came down to taking the show on an episode-by-episode basis. So long as the show is being clever and funny, I can accept a lot of the disgusting brand of humor, though some things in the show consistently go too far for my tastes. Imagine the dumbest, grossest Ren & Stimpy shows crossed with the nastiest porn magazine that you can imagine, and you get an idea of how low this show can go. And yet, I kept looking forward to the next episode, even knowing it was “wrong” to do so. Mixed in with all the cruel jokes and disgusting antics, there are moments of comic gold. Just be prepared to wade through a lot of dung, too. The only thing that can be registered as a complaint would be the fact that some of the music used in the series had to be replaced for the DVD release. I can understand TV series produced even 10 years ago not thinking ahead far enough to include home video rights when they license some pop music to use in their programs but for a series produced now that had every intention of going to DVD from the beginning to not add that one little detail is inexcusable.

Freaks & Geeks– Captain Hero, the Superman parody on the show, is enraged and saddened that a fraternity next door has not accepted him. Sadly, he does not understand that it is just a simple Greek family, not a fraternity, and he kidnaps their daughter thinking her a fraternity mascot. In the B story, Pokemon-like Ling Ling invites his father to move into the household. The episode ends with a typically tasteless parody song in the country of Grease. As in, the movie Grease. Get it? Source: Deleted line from "Hot Tub". In the aired version, the list of names is changed to "Mammy, Moolie, Topsy, Schwoogie". Source: Unknown. Despite the fact that the answer is given as "Uncensored", the line did not appear in any episode. Since the animation was originally created for television and doesn't feature the kind of jarring action in some animated series, there really aren't any major problems to speak of with the transfer. Viewing this 2 DVD set on a Panasonic progressive scan DVD player connected to a 45 inch HDTV monitor, the episodes looked better here than they did when they originally ran on Comedy Central. Still, there is some limited dot crawl in some of the reds but other than that, the video looks as good as can be expected.Source: "Requiem for a Reality Show". In the episode, though the joke remains intact, the exact wording is changed; Xandir suggests that Toot try anorexia, to which Ling-Ling replies, "Everybody wins". Ling Ling is considered by many to be the most popular character on Drawn Together; fun fact, Ling Ling will secrete a psychedelic sweat when disappointed. The Censored/Uncensored Game is a bonus feature that appears on the Drawn Together Season One DVD. A line is given, and the viewer must decide if the line aired on television as given (uncensored), or if it had to be altered significantly or deleted (censored). Some of the censored lines appear intact in the extended DVD version of the episode. The game contains a few bugs; some lines are listed as uncensored that never appeared on television, while others are listed as censored that appeared virtually intact. (See The game below.) For more about the premise of Drawn Together, please read our DVD review of Drawn Together: Season One.) Spelling Applebee’s– The members of the Drawn Together household go up against the Peanuts gang in a spelling bee. Just how do they get away with this stuff? Captain Hero also asks out Princess Clara, which leads to a messy massacre of Disney Princesses.Spanky: "Well, that's just dangerous. As dangerous as denying the Holocaust, or slavery, or the playful advances of your shop teacher." Source: "Terms of Endearment". Despite the fact that the answer is given as "Censored", the line appeared on television completely intact. Source: Deleted line from " Dirty Pranking No. 2". In the aired version, the phrase "in a work-ethic powered car" is removed.
