I never identified with the retail experience but two slackers, one of whom was into comic books and video games, hanging around a mall? Like Woody Allen, he has made a nice living out of making movies that don’t have to gross north of a billion dollars worldwide to be profitable. Alas, this seems to become another domain where Smith shows a steep dropoff, as least as demonstrated by this spotty discussion - and Smith deserves the blame, as he dominates. Lionsgate is not making a View Askewniverse set, they are simply making a Clerks set and needed the first film. As it happens, it’s exactly the same problem apparent in their current 4K Digital version, and it also appeared on the Imprint Blu-ray release in early 2020 (see our review here): The opening shots of Mars are the wrong color. The reproduction, modification, distribution, or republication of the content without permission is strictly prohibited. Its not pretty and perfect, as to be expected by Smith currently as he gets to be the sole driving force of his own creations nowadays, but it gets enough right.

It’s not a poor presentation by any means, and the black and white portions are actually refreshing with better visual textures to work with. However, it is worth watching for Michelle Buteau’s many funny alternate lines in her role of Lisa, whose daughter comes to the Quick Stop one night to interview Randal for her school newspaper.

The acting is as uneven as ever, but Clerks III has its heart in the right place, and if you’re part of its intended audience, you’ll enjoy the ride. This gives Smith a chance to recreate many iconic scenes, particularly all those great ones from the first film, as Randal sets out to chronicle all the crazy things that have happened over the past nearly 30 years. This includes, without limitation, direct loss, loss of business or profits (whether or not the loss of such profits was foreseeable, arose in the normal course of things or you have advised this Company of the possibility of such potential loss), damage caused to your computer, computer software, systems and programs and the data thereon or any other direct or indirect, consequential and incidental damages.Surround Sound Presentation: This one accurately displays every location with good ambiance and thoughtfulness in a 360 degree realm of travel and things being off screen. Featuring Rosario Dawson, a host of celebrity cameos, and Smith’s signature humour, Clerks IlI is a hilarious and nostalgic capstone to the Clerks legacy – nearly thirty years in the making.

By the time Randal's movie is done, and the audience gets a glimpse at some of the footage, it's clear that something really special has been captured both in- and out-of-story.

The movie was all about Kevin Smith coming to terms with his mortality, and it spoke me as I've lost a couple of really good friends in the last year. Nearly 30 years after the first film created such a buzz, Clerks III demonstrates that Kevin Smith seems out of ideas.
