For what it's worth, I checked the new score through headphones and it's in mono, and tinny mono at that, so it sounds like it was added to the mix some years ago -- it definitely wasn't newly-added for the DVD. The difference is that Caron was able to turn this standard guy-girl detective team plot on its ear and created a wonderfully funny and different type of TV show: Moonlighting. thats funny I noticed the same thing about the music in "Witness For the Executuion" and it really made me scratch my head. There are some problems with the DVD releases, for example they cut out one long intro from one of the later Dipesto/Viola episodes, I remember this was long and just filling in the running time, but why cut it out from the DVD?A. by train, Maddie daydreams about her future while pouring out her troubles to a sympathetic passenger. There's still some funny chases (the airplane ride with David and Bert in Take a Left at the Altar has a nice big-screen feel), and some funny Willis line readings (the Cool Hand Dave two-parter has some vintage Willis shtick). Not only an entertaining and funny show but one which never seems to appear on any streaming service or be repeated on terrestrial television. It's clear that that different score was there in the print they used; the only question is where it comes from. My biggest memory of this show is some episode where they finished the story early and had left over time or something and they filled it with Viola getting up on a chair and dancing and/or lip syncing to an oldie.

Maddie Hayes (Cybill Shepherd) was a very popular, and very well paid, model until she'd earned enough money and retired at a very young age. The R2 video was more detailed but had more compression artifacts, the R1 video was softer, less compression issues. Aside from her looks and manner, she could also keep up with the Willis, throwing out quips just as rapidly as he did. I still have the UK box set, I'm only on the lookout for the french box set of season 1 as for some reason, the french dub is on every season on the UK set except the first.
