About this deal

Geralt is a Witcher: guardian of the innocent; protector of those in need; a defender, in dark times, against some of the most frightening creatures of myth and legend. CD Projekt Red and Fantasy Flight Games released The Witcher Adventure Game, a board game designed by Ignacy Trzewiczek, [83] in 2014 [84] in physical and digital forms. [85] The digital version is available on Windows, OS X, Android and iOS. In 2001, a Television Series based on the Witcher cycle was released in Poland and internationally, entitled Wiedźmin (The Hexer). A film by the same title was compiled from excerpts of the television series but both have been critical and box office failures. Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon (known as "Ciri", from the name Zireael in Elder Speech (meaning "Swallow"; Polish: Jaskółka)), also known as the Lion Cub of Cintra, Child of the Elder Blood, Falka, and the Lady of Time and Space. Cirilla is the princess of Cintra, daughter of Pavetta and Duny (also known as the Urcheon of Erlenwald) and granddaughter of Queen Calanthe. She is also Geralt's destiny and adopted daughter, and the focus of much of the plot. Ciri is a descendant of Lara Dorren and has the Elder blood, which gives her access to powers that allow her to cross space and time. Ciri has ashen grey hair and green emerald eyes, a trait that runs in her family. [ citation needed] In the Polish 2002 film and 2002 TV series, she was played by Marta Bitner [ pl]. [28]

Vilgefortz confronts Geralt at the Tower of Gulls, where Ciri has taken refuge. Vilgefortz repeats his offer for Geralt to join the winning side, but Geralt refuses and a fight ensues in which Geralt is soundly defeated and severely wounded. Vilgefortz enters the Tower but Ciri escapes through an ancient and unstable magic portal, releasing a flare of energy that collapses the Tower and leaves Vilgefortz's face badly scarred. At the reception, Geralt meets quite a few interesting individuals, but in particular he meets Vilgefortz for the first time. The mage is considered very young (which of course is anything less than 100 years to mages, but he looks more like 35), he is also considered to be particularly talented, but as Geralt finds out, his road to becoming a mage was not exactly the usual route. The wizard was abandoned as a baby and taken in and raised by druids. It was only as an adult that he became a mage. A point he underlines with some emphasis to the witcher. He even goes so far as to try to encourage Geralt to become a mage himself, but the witcher refuses.Dandelion (Polish: Jaskier) is a poet, minstrel, bard and Geralt's best friend. The Polish word jaskier refers to the Buttercup flower ( Ranunculus). Some of his more famous ballads were about the relationship between Geralt and Yennefer. By the time of the saga, he is already in his 40s though it is said that he appears to be in his 30s and is sometimes mistaken for an elf. He accompanies Geralt in many short stories and ends up joining his hansa while searching for Ciri. [ citation needed] He is played by Joey Batey in The Witcher TV series. [29] In the 2001 Polish Wiedźmin film, he was played by Zbigniew Zamachowski. [30] Tylko dla fanów wiedźmina Geralta. Szpony i kły – recenzja Spider's Web". Spidersweb.pl. November 16, 2017. Retrieved May 22, 2015.With the positive reader reception to his short stories, Sapkowski decided to write a fantasy saga. [12] He claimed that Polish publishers at the time believed only Anglo-Saxon fantasy authors were worth publishing and that Polish writers of the genre were too risky. SuperNowa were the only publisher willing to take the risk, and "Now everybody envies" them. [14] For the saga, the author expanded on the story he used for "A Question of Price" and "Sword of Destiny". [14] Blood of Elves, the first novel in The Witcher Saga, was published in 1994. [12] The story focuses on Geralt of Rivia and Ciri, who are linked by destiny. Ciri, princess of a recently conquered country and a pawn of international politics, becomes a witcher-in-training. Geralt is drawn into a whirlwind of events in his attempts to protect her. In 2015 a Polish audiobook has been released. It is a high-end audiobook, with dozens of actors, music and special effects.
