If you are performing compulsions then you will validate obsessions and make OCD more powerful. It doesn’t matter what the obsession is. Many of my clients make distinctions between their obsessive question and that of others to try to gain certainty that they have OCD. This is another compulsion. We can’t have 100% certainty about our future actions and OCD capitalizes on this.
