About this deal

An issue that could make it impossible to set series recordings for some programmes. This happened when the T2•R received two regional variations of the same channel, e.g. BBC One SE at 1 and BBC One LON at 800. This did not affect channels with +1 (e.g. ITV & ITV+1) or HD alternatives (e.g. ITV & ITV HD), only regional variations. In terms of connectivity, the Aura provides a wide range of options. It features HDMI, USB, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi connectivity, enabling seamless integration with your TV, external storage devices, home network, and the internet. The built-in Wi-Fi allows you to access online streaming services, enjoy over-the-air updates, and take advantage of the Aura's smart capabilities. When making a regional selection during Installation, the wrong regional services could be selected. However, if you love flipping live channels, but still want to record programmes and watch them on your own time – then a box like the Manhattan T2-R can be perfect for you, with no-fuss smart recording capabilities and a big hard drive. The Aura features a user-friendly electronic program guide (EPG) that simplifies the process of browsing and scheduling recordings. With its intuitive interface and advanced search functionality, finding and manageing your favourite shows becomes effortless. Stay organized and never miss any must-watch content with the Aura's EPG.

Just remember that recording – just like watching live shows – depends on your Freeview reception. So if you have bad reception, or if someone accidentally moved the indoor aerial, you might find out later that you have a garbled recording.

The ultimate subscription-free TV experience: the T3-R perfectly combines over 85 Freeview channels with on demand TV from BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, My5, UKTV Play and more. Because of their determination to get this sorted, "it's our top priority to understand & resolve as reliable timers are a must for a PVR", I'm willing to persevere with the box for now . Watching your recorded content is easy – you press the “Recordings” button on the remote, and jump to the dedicated screen, where you’ll see all the content you recorded. It’s even categorised separately into tabs of ‘Series’ (where you can see all the episodes of a specific series you recorded) and ‘Movies’. The interface is beautiful and most importantly – fast. The “smart” recording features are useful, and navigating your recordings is easy. Picture quality is great, but – as always – depends a lot on your aerial reception.

Programmes deleted and emptied from the Trash could not be re-recorded and any repeats were indicated as already recorded. So... The T2-R has some bugs and it seems to me that is is only a few software upgrades away from being very good. It isn't a bad PVR - most of the time it is good but then every 2-3 weeks you get a freeze sometimes twice a night. Unplug and restart, recordings restart and you loose a minute. The Manhattan T3-R is a powerhouse. It’s obviously got processing power to spare because it zips around the Freeview Play user interface – itself a thing of beautiful simplicity – with bristling ease. It’s a joy to use, which isn’t something we thought we’d be saying about a Freeview set-top box.Win: The DTR-T4000 features a comprehensive electronic program guide (EPG) that offers an intuitive and user-friendly interface. The EPG allows you to browse through available channels, view program details, and schedule recordings with ease. It simplifies the process of finding and manageing your favourite shows and ensures you never miss any must-watch content. The “On Demand” button displays the most popular Catch-up services, which are all in one place, providing easy access to the the world of iPlayer, ITV Hub, ALL4, Demand 5 and UKTV They had hoped to have fix ready for last weeks update 1.04, but wasn't to be. As I posted earlier matter now with chipset manufacturer.

Regarding lip sync, we have now reproduced the issues in our lab using special video files designed to analyse AV sync. We had to modulate the files to play them out and then record them / live pause them"Fixed an issue whereby seemingly randomly, channels would be removed during the Automatic Service Update in standby. This could happen in locations receiving signals from multiple transmitters with signal variations. The issue could cause favourites and scheduled recordings to disappear. The file system has been updated to make it resilient to corruption caused by unexpected interruptions (e.g. power loss) during asynchronous data transfer.
