About this deal

When Evie has a very unexpected and serious accident she is forced to contact Jessica for assistance.

The House in the Woods by Zoe Miller is a book that once you start reading it, it becomes increasingly difficult to put down. That’s when I discovered John Milton, Beatrix and Isabella Rose, and his Other well developed supporting characters. The characters feel very real and likeable, and Fielding has obviously found a talent in weaving tales that are bound to keep fans of Most Haunted very happy. It's a book for children / teenagers and I'm a grown woman who has always been interested in the Paranormal, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.Maybe it’s just meant for a younger audience perhaps or the action starts in the next scenes but I just had to put it down. There is a horrific shooting of a whole family on Christmas Eve, husband, wife, son and daughter, all murdered in their large family home. Her great-niece Amber offers to travel down from Laurel Lawns to help care for Evie, who reluctantly accepts, despite Amber being a virtual stranger. Travelling across some of the most haunted sites in not just the UK, but the world, Fielding has gathered some of the most convincing and compelling paranormal activity on film.

You think you have everything worked out but then the story veers in another direction so as to make you reassess everything and then your opinion changes. Not because it was an exciting, adrenaline filled, fast paced rush - quite the opposite - no, because it is throughly engrossing, with complicated lead characters and equally complex secondary characters. The press quickly dubs the case 'The Christmas Eve Massacre', Ralph becomes prime suspect, and his trial is set to begin soon.

The idea of this blog is to share my passion for reading and review new and upcoming books as well as those that may have been out for several years. I thought it was pure genius to tie this in with how her character in a gangland drama series made their untimely end. While I did enjoy this, it was not the 'gripping edge-of-your-seat novel' it was sold as - instead I would describe it more as a family drama with lots of hope and redemption. He’s in the look for a big case and that comes in the form of the wife of a man who’s supposedly murdered his family on Christmas Eve while he will be the only one who’s to inherit the family’ possessions. However Evie has been estranged from her sister's family for many years and hopes that Amber's arrival doesn't mean that her dark secrets, or what happened in Heronbrook years ago, will be uncovered.
