The name "Indigo" is inspired by the colour blue, which was crafted by the ancient Maya using the Indigo flower (annil). Inspired by the colour ‘Indigo’, crafted by the ancient Maya using the Indigo Flower (anil) and the colour of Tlaloc the Mayan God of rain. The same curiosity lead Cihuatán to create El Salvador’s first rum, crafted by hand in the heart of the Cihuatán valley. The entire production chain from sugarcane seeding to distilling, to ageing to bottling is controlled.

The palate is smooth, with notes of vanilla, dark chocolate, hazelnut coming through with hints of Cappuccino and Lemongrass and a smooth finish.Matured solely in ex-Bourbon barrels the Indigo is smooth and elegant with hints of creamy dulce de lache, vanilla, cappuccino, cocoa, lemongrass and hazelnut. Indigo has been matured for 8 years in former bourbon barrels and delivers hints of Vanilla, Cappuccino, Dark Chocolate, Lemon grass and Hazelnut.
