About this deal

The Igenix IG7458 Compact Electric Kettle has all the features we consider essential for camping using an electric hookup – it also achieves this at a very decent price point. For that reason we recommend it, even though it’s probably not the most stylish looking kettle on the market! The technology in this kettle will impress you with every use. During testing, we loved the temperature gauge lever and the fact that the dial on the body of the kettle lets you know the temperature even when it's away from the base. We also enjoyed how speedy the boiling was, and the light-up design as it climbs in temperature was great for making sure it was actually switched on, and knowing when it had finished boiling. Pairing either card reader with its respective app is really intuitive. Just follow the simple directions on the app, and you can get set up within under five minutes. This area is all about scaling and so it's an important feature if you want to grow your business and audience base. Continuing the trend, Zettle scores much more poorly here than Square to achieve eighth position overall in our ranking (versus Square's first place). Power consumption is also designed to be low at 2.2kW which means that there is very little chance of triggering the electric hookup tripswitch.

Most electric camping kettles are made of hardened plastic to keep the weight down. Your only consideration then really turns into the size of the kettle you need. For example, you may wish to save space in your travel kit by choosing a smaller kettle than you would typically use at home. Russell Hobbs are not known for making dedicated camping gear, and this little gem is no exception. However, the Russell Hobbs Compact Electric Kettle fulfills all the key features we consider essential. It also does this by looking extremely elegant in brushed stainless steel and using a premium glass jug body. The downside for all this style is a higher than average price point. We think it’s well worth it though. The Primus Litech Camping Kettle is our current ‘go-to’ anodized aluminium stove-top favourite. Primus should need no introduction, and their kettle is the definition of a clean design. Our tester particularly liked being able to compare average spend and visits from loyalty vs non-loyalty customers, so they could analyse where their incentives were going wrong and push the more successful programs. Top of our must-have list is that it’s easy is it to hold, fill and pour. If you often refill a kettle as soon as it has boiled, choose one with a flip-top lid you don’t have to take off manually. This is really important to avoid the risk of scalding yourself on steam when you open it.All of the touch points are also well executed, from the comfortable handle that stays cool to the touch to the soft open lid and non-drip spout. It also comes with a polishing cloth included to buff away any fingerprints its stainless steel body might collect. This kettle also offers the ability to heat water to five different temperatures – 40, 75, 85, 95 and 100°C – which is great if you’re a coffee or herbal tea aficionado who knows the exact best degree centigrade for your brew. Out of the nearly 20 kettles she tested in one day (there was a lot of tea), these were the 10 that made the final cut. Her favourite was the KitchenAid Temperature Control Kettle, which has the sleekest look and features out there. FAQs When's the best time to buy a kettle?

MSR make some of the best camping gear available, from tents to stoves. Their fantastic Titan Titanium camping kettle might not look like much and be more expensive then some of the full electric kettles we’ve reviewed, but it will last a lifetime and will never let you down. So what’s so good about it I hear you cry? We have had bad experiences with collapsible silicone items before, having tried a collapsible washing-up bowl and other kitchen items – each of them developed leaks where the silicone came away from the metal. So far we have not seen this happen with this Quest kettle, but it is worth monitoring for. With a unique, cubed design, and lightweight, hardwearing anodised aluminium body, this Ridgemonkey kettle features a larger area for increased efficiency, ensuring you get your bankside brew sooner than you would with other makes of fishing kettle, while the cool touch handle means you can grab the kettle straight off the stove as soon as it comes to the boil, giving you a hot drink that will warm you right through from the first sip.

Filters that reduce limescale are invaluable if you live in a hard-water area and don’t want to be descaling your kettle on a regular basis.

I find Zettle easy-to-use and straightforward. It has everything we need. I haven’t considered switching to a different device and don’t plan to any time soon.” Every extra feature that Square has reduces the amount you'll have to spend on other software products – the main reason we gave Square a higher score for value for money than Zettle. Business development We gathered some exclusive insights on Zettle in our journey out into the Greater London community. There is a reason that Square and Zettle score so similarly in our research – they are both excellent POS choices that perform their roles well for users.

Our overall best kettle was the De'Longhi Ballerina Kettle, which we rate for its usability and temperature-control functions. The Dualit Architect kettle also wins our approval for its sturdy build and good looks, and the Russell Hobbs Emma Bridgewater Kettle is the quietest kettle we tested. Why do I need a kettle? Power consumption is designed to be low at 2.2kW which means that there is very little chance of triggering the electric hookup tripswitch. The Russell Hobbs Emma Bridgewater Kettle is the quietest one we tested. It heats and boils virtually silently, which means you're unlikely to be disturbed if it's used when you're in a call or early in the morning. It's also a treat to look at, with a retro-contemporary design that comes in either a multi-coloured polka dot or a love heart pattern. There's also a matching toaster available, which we really enjoyed testing. The spout of this kettle makes pouring a treat, and the overhead handle is easy to hold and tactile. The Titan is essentially a titanium pot with a spout in the rim and a thin dual handle for lifting up. The handle looks flimsy but does not get too hot and does it’s job well. When not in use, it folds flush against the kettle body to aid storage. Did we mention that this kettle is only 118 grams? Zettle’s equipment does come out a little more expensive than Square’s, which could be enough to sway some people. But the best way to work out which platform has the best value for money is to think about your own business operations. That said, to make it even more customer-centric, and like the Square card machine, the Zettle could have a larger display screen. Some of my customer’s also prefer buttons to input their data rather than a touch-screen.” Is there a preference on the type of metal used in a kettle? Typically, stainless steel is used for the base of all camping kettles because it is so resilient and will also work well on induction hobs. The question then comes down to what metal is used for the rest of the kettle.
