Test Your Slipstream: The player must drive behind traffic vehicles to collect the points and beat rivals. OutRun Online Arcade is a racing video game and the most recent release in the OutRun series. It was developed by Sumo Digital and published by Sega. The game was released on April 15, 2009 on Xbox Live Arcade and released exclusively in Europe for the PlayStation 3 a day later via the PlayStation Network. Gameplay involves players racing their choice of Ferrari through a selection of fifteen stages in the shortest time possible.

Pleasingly, the developer uses the various sections to really showcase the Xbox hardware: taking us on a ride across a suspension bridge over a glassy lake; over cloud-smothered hilltops and into the hazy, sun-soaked valleys on the other side; down tree and windmill-lined country roads; along a cobbled seafront past rows of yachts and around menacingly sharp sloping coastal roads; and powersliding through the Paris night, past the Eiffel Tower and rows of street cafés and Christmas tree lights puncturing the darkness with an orange headlight glow. All of which is reflected in the glossy chassis of whichever Ferrari you're driving, at the sort of velocity that a lot of 'arcade' racing games have long since forgotten about. This utility can enhance the look and picture of OutRun 2006 and the game looks BONKERZ with these arcade CRT monitor effects!!!

Developing the game precipitated some changes for its developers, Sega AM2, who had historically written their games using Unix systems. Writing for an Xbox-based system meant they had to adapt to the Microsoft Windows kernel.There's a ton of interesting things you can do with sweetfx...add HDR, bloom, FXAA, old arcade CRT monitor look, a bunch of color tweaks and so on.
