Not a bad day at the Office for DPCC in the Antelope 50km 3-up team time trial. Firstly club lady Lucy Austin, Karla Boddy (Corley cycles), Suzy Robinson (VC10) formed a composite team to win the Ladies prize! And in the mens standings, Simon Kelly, Paul Demicoli and Simon Evans, rode solidly on a mix of TT and road bikes. And finally Richard Gildea, Harri James and Martin Stanley, were just 6 minutes off 1st place (to national level riders), but did find themselves on 2nd step of the podium.
Congrats to Richard Gildea on the win in 23m04s, Giles Clark (Vision Innovative Leisure RT) for clocking 23m32s taking 2nd spot, and to Chris Boddy (Cowley Road Condors) coming 3rd in 23m34s.
Many thanks to the helpers/time keepers: Paul Demicoli, Gwyneth Seigel, Kevin Stopps, Henry Latimer, Steve Warwick and to Dan Atkins for putting the signs out. Next week the TT is on the Sires Hill course.
First time use of the new Donkey loop (2x 7 mile laps), saw Tim Allen (Team Vision Innovative Leisure) take first spot, with Neil Ashcroft and Ron Smith 2nd, 3rd on TT bikes, with Anthony Atkin 4th (1st on a road bike).
Next week (20th April) sees the first visit of the year to Stadhampton for the road bike only TT.
A great night was had by the club members that attended the awards evening at The Steventon House Hotel on Saturday evening. Many thanks to our Chairman Tim for presenting the many awards and to Simon Evans for organising such a great venue, meal and quiz. Full set of photos here.

Chris Gilligan fought off a strong field of 20+ coasters, to take back the Freewheeling challenge trophy from 2 times winner David Emms who could only manage 4th behind Rich Gildea 2nd, and Paul Demicoli 3rd.
Chris now 2 times winner himself, revealed his last minute training plan in Court Hill whilst eating “4” cakes involved a Saturday night curry, and pre-clubrun Chicken pie for breakfast!
The date for the 2017 freewheeling challenge is set for Sunday 8th January.
The hill has been carefully selected by defending champion David Emms and is Copperage Road outside Farnborough (in the direction of West Ilsley).
The main clubrun will stop at Court hill beforehand and gather at the hill in Farnborough from around 12:30
Simon McGowan retains the Christmas cup.
On a bright sunny but very chilly Boxing day, Tim Allen (RP racing) had the fastest time of the day but clubman Simon McGowan wins the much coveted Christmas cup for a 2nd year on handicap. Robert Briggs finished 2nd with Paul Demicoli and Martin Stanley tied for 3rd.
Hi all. We are co-organising a round of Wessex League Cyclo-cross on 20th Nov at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Harwell, OX11 0QX between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm. We have a good crew of Marshals already volunteered but many would also like to ride, if we get enough offers of help we can let everyone who wants to marshal and race do both. We have club riders racing in every category, so its a great chance to help the club and cheer on your mates. Please let me know via email if you can spare a few hours.
Within the event there will also be a 30 minute Novice race (start time 11:15), so if you have a suitable mountainbike or cyclocross bike and would like to give racing a go, then this is your chance!
