About this deal

In all fairness, it should be noted that I have rarely rated any stories from this popular author duo above two stars, so you might want to take my review with a grain a salt. I don’t know why I keep trying this author; just a glutton for punishment, I guess. Or rather, I do know why - it’s the strong quality concepts that pull me in, but then I get hung up on the execution that just falls flat 💁‍♀️ So many amazingly hilarious and adorable sibling and family moments. And of course we get our much-needed Thatch-fix too! Remy and Maria’s story embodies the best of the Winslow family. Remy is a natural protector, borne in his father’s absence. The way that he looks over Maria absolutely melts your heart. Fate brings them together so that Maria has the support missing in her life. As Remy steps in and cares for her, you would think that their relationship would be uneven, However, Max Monroe have carefully constructed Remy and Maria’s relationship with Maria caring for Remy protectively as well. Remy and Maria are suited: they laugh, cry, and find joy in each other. Maria is a veritable heroic beast in her own right. I won’t share her story, but she’s the type of heroine who makes you proud to be a woman. And Remy is her perfect partner.

Marias character was also an absolute highlight. It brought emotion and healing, making their relationship seem so realistic. The tequila scene will live rent free in my head, there were so many amazing moments for healing for both the characters-- having loved their first life and now embarking on new chapters. He never downplays her need to be in control of every minute of her life, he just encourages her to take it easy. And Maria, what a strong character. He’s been through a lot and lost even more, but he still keeps his head up and overcomes. Maria’s work has always come first and her struggle to find a balance between her old life and her new life really shakes her. But she does, and I admire her for it. Tapping the Billionaire has also been accused of being very clichéd, what with numerous misunderstandings driving the plot. There were so many things I loved about this book and I really want to be careful not to give too much away. But just know that Remington Winslow is the most generous man in the family. The way he steps up for Maria every single time, how he’s always there no matter what. How he seeks her out even when she’s trying to do things on her own. I loved that even though Maria wants to do things on her own and probably can, Remy still gives her the opportunity to not do it all. He never belittles her need to have control over every minute of her life, he just encourages her to take it a little easier. And Maria, what a strong character. She’s been through so much and lost even more, but she’s still got her head held high and she’s powering through. Maria’s job has always come first and her struggle to find the balance between her old life and the new one really shakes her up. But she does it and I admired her for it. And I'm just trying to survive a tangled web of unexpected motherhood and running one of the top real estate firms in the city that never sleeps. And the best part about this series is that it’s so interconnected (but all standalones) & we get to see each brother in every book. As well as a mysterious fortune teller who just so happens to be very very good at what she does 😏

Maria is exactly what Remy needs to reawaken his cold, guarded heart. Yes, he got left at the altar, but dude, it's been years. Time to move on. And of course, the mysterious, eternally youthful psychic, Chloe, plays a small but pivotal part. That's what happens when you see a psychic during a bachelor party. It may take years for a prediction to come to fruition, and Chloe sees it all. Remy comes off as such a grumpy eternal bachelor type of guy, but really he has so much love to give. He really is a big ole softy wrapped in a hard sexy shell. He made me swoon so hard. The way he spoke about Maria, her strength and beauty as a mother, just melted my heart. It honestly feels like I’ve been waiting forever for this book. I’ve wanted Remy’s book right from the beginning and especially with the small crumbs we got regarding his past. I was not disappointed and had a blast reading this book and it definitely left me in a good mood. I love how the elevator played such a big role in the relationship between the two. And it was such a wonderful meet cute!!!

So, just consider this a warning. A big warning. THE REDO is going to make you laugh your booty off, but it will also hit you directly in the feels and give you the overwhelming urge to take your clothes off. Use caution when reading this book in front of others. It's official. I've gone and fallen for another Winslow brother. Remy is the definition of swoon, and I couldn't get enough of him. You can't help but feel there's some divine intervention, fate, or some kind of magic at play here in this series... and you know, I'm all for it. And that Maria, she is such a strong heroine. Despite all the hardships she's faced on her own, she's a successful business woman and about to become a mom. It's not easy for her to let someone in. But Remy makes it nearly impossible not to. Each author had also written more than fifteen novels during their career. Being best friends, it occurred to the ladies one random day that they could garner even greater success by combining their efforts and writing as a team.

I cannot gush enough about this book, but I will try to keep it brief because this is a must romcom read!!! Remy and Maria, with their shared history, are clearly the perfect match. I adore their story for so many reasons, but the ones that come to mind first is that it's their second chance! Gah, I love second chance romances and when this writing duo added in witty banter, outright laugh riot text threads, and a sweet baby? My heart was firmly in their grip. I was team Remy + Maria all the way from the book description. All this one did was remind me why I generally don’t care for this author duo’s work. I think it’s a personal preference of mine, and I will truly reconsider reading anything else from them. i don’t know if its just a cultural thing, or a book-world thing, but if a baby’s parents are dead, and you are carrying their baby (never knew that was a thing before some celebrity did it tbh & i dunno seems fishy just renting out your uterus?), does the baby not have aunts, cousins, other family that YOU could go to just because they are unable to come to you?? ever thought of that maria? hmm 🙂 If you are one of those rabid fans of the Billionaire Bad Boys series, you might be surprised to learn that Max Monroe isn’t a person but, rather, a pen name for two authors. These ladies have built their career out of the mystery surrounding their identities. He’s the jaded guy who doesn’t want to settle down, and I’m the career-focused woman with more baggage than a 747 can hold. Needless to say, my current status is thorny. And no, I didn’t miss how close that word is to another one.
