Film night tickets now on sale here. £3.50 members. £6 non-members
Saturday 27 Jan. You’re coming to Awards Night. Why?
1) Watching Richard collect his own bodyweight in silverware* is always a blast.
2) We’ve got extra-special guest Rachael Elliott (fastest female 10 in 2017, fastest female 30 EVER, world Brompton champion, Zwift Academy finalist and inaugural world CVR winner) coming to hand out our trophies and do a Q&A with President Tim. Arrive early to avoid the media scrimmage.
3) Unconfirmed reports of a quiz for Ron’s table to win.

From this Thursday (5th) there will be turbo sessions at Brightwell cum Sotwell Pavilion (map), set up from 6:30 and sweat from 7. £3 per person. Borrow a club turbo or bring your own.
These run all winter, except for the first aid course (12th) and AGM (19th).
Armchair racing correspondent Vicky Lawson writes…
Ten events, squillions of gallons of sweat, and inexplicably, Phoenix didn’t win. Sort it out next year, chaps and lady-chaps, yeah?
Congratulations to the winners:
Men Individual: Greg Fitzek – Cowley Road Condors
Men Individual (U23): Greg Fitzek – Cowley Road Condors
Men Team: GS Henley
Women Individual: Aimee Jones – Cowley Road Condors
Women Team: Cowley Road Condors
We, small but mighty, were 4th women’s team and 5th men’s team. I feel a 2018 bird-off coming on.
We had some great performances to be proud of. The Hofley household – Martin ‘Stan’ Stanley, a magnificent overall 8th man, was accompanied by blushing racing debutante Clare Hofmann (12th woman). The Pittards: Laura 9th and James 14th (and second-placed U23 rider). Olivia Bentley, most recently seen in the Women’s Tour of Sussex, took 6th thanks to her podium in the Woodstock round. Harri James took 10th, and experienced lags (sorry chaps) Grant Goodall and Jez Hewitt rocked up to add a bit of mid-table respectability to the mix.
Now in its fourth year, the league overall has grown, with the addition of High Wycombe CC and associate membership of Oxford University CC, and included an ITT (ahh, civilised) from Oxonian for the first time.
The league couldn’t continue without all of the volunteers from each club who work really hard to put on races. The DPCC race this year was executed to perfection by directors David Emms and Simon Evans; if you fancy yourself as a bit of a Christian Prudhomme, there will be opportunities to run our 2018 event – come to the AGM on Thursday 19th October and seize power.
2017 Leiden Plaque
This year it was DPCCs turn to host the annual inter Oxfordshire cycling club time trialling competition and Harri James pulled out all the stops in creating a great event on such a stunning Bank Holiday Monday.
Congratulations were due again to winners Banbury Star CC, with Cowley Road Condors CC 2nd, and Oxonian CC 3rd. Thanks to all competing riders and especially to the many volunteers at the HQ, and marshals and timekeepers out on the course.

Club Hill Climb Championship – Sunday 27th
It was business as usual with the on-form Richard Gildea taking the 2017 Hill climb Championship trophy. This year Richard clocked an aggregate time of 7 minutes 37 seconds, and in doing so setting a new time up the Crays Pond/Flint hill climb.

Club 25 mile TT Championship – Monday 28th
A stunning morning on the Cumnor H25/17 TT course saw 11 DPCC members take to the start within the inter club Leiden Plaque competition. Richard Gildea was victorious, with Chris Boddy 2nd and Martin Stanley 3rd.
